Hunt OTT Release Date: The Malayalam horror thriller Hunt, which hit theatres on August 23, 2024, is all set for its digital debut.Helmed by Shaji Kailas with a script by Nikhil Anand, the film is set to start streaming on manoramaMAX from May 23, 2025. The film stars Bhavana in the lead role, alongside Aditi Ravi, Chandhunadh, and Renji Panicker in pivotal parts.

About Hunt

Hunt explores themes of the supernatural while embedding a forensic investigation at its core. The story follows Dr. Keerthi, a postgraduate student in forensic medicine, who stumbles upon skeletal remains that are identified as belonging to Dr. Sarah, an anesthesia student who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances. As the investigation progresses, Keerthi finds herself facing a series of paranormal disturbances. The situation intensifies further when Dr. Shanavas, a fellow doctor with a past connection to Sarah, joins the inquiry. The plot unfolds with a blend of suspense and horror, culminating in a confrontation with hidden truths.

The project marked the return of director Shaji Kailas to the horror thriller genre and also reunited him with Bhavana nearly two decades after their collaboration in Chinthamani Kolacase (2006). The film was announced in December 2022, with principal photography beginning the same month. Most of the shooting took place in and around Palakkad and was completed by February 2023.

Produced by K. Radhakrishnan under the banner of Jayalakshmi Films, Hunt features a supporting cast that includes Dain Davis, Anu Mohan, Vijayakumar G. Suresh Kumar, Ajmal Ameer, Rahul Madhav, Nandhu, and Biju Pappan.

The technical crew includes Jackson Johnson as the director of photography, Akhil AR handling the editing, and Kailas Menon composing the music. VFX was handled by Ident VFX Lab with Sarath Vinu as the supervisor. Sound design was done by M. R. Rajakrishnan and Resonance Audios, with Boban managing art direction and Liji Preman in charge of costumes.

Following its theatrical run, the film is now preparing to reach a wider audience through its OTT premiere. Viewers can catch the film on manoramaMAX starting May 23, bringing its eerie narrative to home screens.
