Mammootty s Kalamkaval Box Office Collection Day 12

Kalamkaval Box Office Collection: Kalamkaval, the Malayalam crime thriller headlined by Mammootty and Vinayakan, has completed 12 days at the box office, with its theatrical run moving into Day 13 today, December 17. Directed by debutant Jithin K. Jose, the film opened earlier this month and has since posted a moderate run, particularly during its first week, before witnessing the expected slowdown in its second week.

According to figures shared by box office tracking portal Sacnilk, Kalamkaval has earned an estimated ₹33.55 crore net in India over its first 12 days. The film registered a comparatively strong opening weekend, which laid the foundation for its overall total so far.

The Mammootty and Vinayakan starrer opened on its first Friday with collections of around ₹5 crore. Business improved over the weekend, with Saturday bringing in approximately ₹5.5 crore and Sunday recording the highest single-day figure of its run at ₹6 crore. However, collections dipped sharply once the film entered the working week. Day 4 (Monday) saw earnings fall to about ₹2.9 crore, followed by ₹2.8 crore on Tuesday and ₹2.1 crore on Wednesday. By the end of its first week, Kalamkaval had collected roughly ₹26.3 crore.

Day 8 (second Friday) brought in an estimated ₹1.65 crore, while Saturday and Sunday offered slight improvement, with collections of ₹2.1 crore and ₹2.15 crore, respectively. The weekday drop was more pronounced in the second week, as Day 11 (Monday) recorded around ₹0.75 crore. Day 12 (Tuesday) added an estimated ₹0.6 crore, based on early and rough data, taking the film's total to ₹33.55 crore.

Kalamkaval Overview

Set in early-2000s Kerala, Kalamkaval revolves around Officer Jayakrishnan, who is assigned to probe the real cause behind a communal clash in the southern part of the state. What begins as a seemingly local incident gradually unfolds into a broader investigation, leading him to revisit old records and trace links to the unexplained disappearances of several young women over the years. As the inquiry deepens, the narrative moves across villages, highlighting the mystery surrounding the case. Vinayakan plays a key role alongside Mammootty, with supporting performances by Rajisha Vijayan, Gayatri Arun, Shruti Ramachandran, and Gibin Gopinath.

The film is produced by Mammootty Kampany, with music composed by Mujeeb Majeed and cinematography by Faisal Ali. Editing is handled by Praveen Prabhakar.

As Kalamkaval enters its 13th day in cinemas, its performance over the remaining weekdays and the upcoming weekend will determine how much further it can add to its total, especially amid competition from newer releases.
