With Day 3 underway on December 7, early trends indicate a steady start for the film at the domestic box office. According to trade estimates reported by box office tracking website Sacnilk, the Malayalam crime thriller has collected approximately ₹10.25 crore net in India in its first two days.

The film opened with an estimated ₹5 crore on its first day, which was a Friday. On Saturday, collections saw a marginal rise, with Day 2 earnings pegged at around ₹5.25 crore, taking the total to ₹10.25 crore. These numbers are classified as rough estimates and are subject to final confirmations. With Sunday traditionally being a strong day for footfalls, the weekend total will become clearer once Sunday's figures are recorded.

Kalamkaval Overview

Directed by debutant filmmaker Jithin K. Jose, Kalamkaval marks his first feature-length project. He has also co-written the screenplay along with Jishnu Sreekumar. The film is produced under the banner of Mammootty Kampany, with George Sebastian serving as the executive producer. Alongside Mammootty and Vinayakan in the lead roles, the cast includes Gibin Gopinath, Gayatri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, and Shruti Ramachandran in supporting parts.

Set in early-2000s Kerala, the narrative follows Officer Jayakrishnan, who is assigned to investigate the circumstances surrounding a communal clash in the southern part of the state. What begins as an inquiry into a local incident gradually expands into a more layered investigation involving a pattern of missing women. The story unfolds through Jayakrishnan's search for connections between these incidents and the truth behind them.
