As the film continues its first weekday, early reports by AB George indicate a "super Monday loading" at the Kerala Box Office, suggesting that the film is maintaining a strong hold on its first Monday.

Technical Crew and Storyline

Directed by debutant Jithin K. Jose, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jishnu Sreekumar, Kalamkaval is produced by Mammootty Kampany. The crime thriller stars Mammootty in the lead role alongside Vinayakan, with Gibin Gopinath, Gayatri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, and Shruti Ramachandran in supporting roles.

Set in early-2000s Kerala, the story revolves around Officer Jayakrishnan, who investigates the true cause behind a communal clash in the southern part of the state. What initially appears to be a localized dispute gradually unfolds into a more complex inquiry. As Jayakrishnan delves deeper, he uncovers connections between the incident and a series of unexplained disappearances of young women. The investigation takes him across villages, involving reluctant witnesses and hidden networks, ultimately exposing a web of secrets that underpins the events.
