According to Sacnilk's data, the film registered an overall occupancy of 14.91% in Kerala for morning shows, reflecting a dip compared to the weekend performance.

The film, a crime thriller set in early-2000s Kerala, is directed by debutant Jithin K. Jose, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jishnu Sreekumar. Produced under the Mammootty Kampany banner, Kalamkaval features Mammootty in the lead alongside Vinayakan, with Gibin Gopinath, Gayatri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, and Shruti Ramachandran in supporting roles.
