Kerala Crime Files 2 X Review: Kerala Crime Files Season 2 - The Search for CPO Ambili Raju, the follow-up to the 2023 Malayalam crime drama, is now streaming on JioHotstar. The new season, featuring Arjun Radhakrishnan, Aju Varghese, Lal, and Indrans in pivotal roles, made its digital debut on June 20, 2025. Set in the state capital Thiruvananthapuram, the second season shifts the narrative focus to a new case involving the sudden disappearance of Civil Police Officer Ambili Raju, played by Indrans. Season 2 Brings New Faces and Fresh Setting
Directed by Ahammed Khabeer and produced under the Monkey Business banner, the series was shot over two months beginning February 19, 2024. Principal photography took place in Thiruvananthapuram and wrapped on April 29, 2024. The post-production was completed by August of that same year. Bahul Ramesh, served as the writer and cinematographer of the season 2.
Among the supporting cast of Kerala Crime Files Season 2 are Harisree Asokan, Renjit Shekar, Sanju Sanichen, Suresh Babu, Navas Vallikunnu, Noorin Shereef, Jeo Baby, Shibla Fara, and Bilas Chandrahasan. The technical crew features names like editor Mahesh Bhuvanend, music director Hesham Abdul Wahab, and production designer Prathap Raveendran.
The first season, Kerala Crime Files: Shiju, Parayil Veedu, Neendakara, released in 2023, focused on police officers in Ernakulam North as they chased down a murder suspect. With Season 2, the geographical and narrative shift adds new elements to the series while retaining its investigative core.
