Kerala Crime Files Season 2 Trailer Out Now: New Chapter In Police Procedural Crime Series To Stream Soon

Kerala Crime Files S2 Trailer Out Now Series Streaming Soon

Kerala Crime Files Season 2 Trailer: The official trailer for Kerala Crime Files Season 2: The Search for CPO Ambili Raju is now out, setting the stage for the next chapter in the Malayalam-language crime drama series. Set to stream soon on JioHotstar, the show marks the return of Aju Varghese and Lal, who reprise their roles from the previous season. Arjun Radhakrishnan joins the cast in this new installment, which appears to delve deeper into the inner workings-and failings-of the law enforcement system.

The trailer opens with a tense voiceover from a fictional news bulletin, stating that five station house officers and twelve civil police officers from Thiruvananthapuram district have been suspended in connection with a serious incident. The trailer suggests that this second season might take a darker and more institutional turn, shifting its focus from a murder investigation to a broader probe into systemic corruption or cover-up.

Production and Crew Details of Kerala Crime Files Season 2

Directed and produced by Ahammed Khabeer under the banner of Monkey Business, Season 2 began production on 19 February 2024. Principal photography took place in and around Thiruvananthapuram and wrapped on 29 April 2024, after a two-month schedule. Post-production was completed by August the same year.

Bahul Ramesh, who also handled cinematography, is credited with the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the season. The technical team features editor Mahesh Bhuvanend, music composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, and production designer Prathap Raveendran.

The ensemble cast includes Indrans, Harisree Asokan, Renjit Shekar, Sanju Sanichen, Suresh Babu, Navas Vallikunnu, Noorin Shereef, Jeo Baby, Shibla Fara, and Bilas Chandrahasan, among others. Behind the scenes, the series has contributions from a wide crew, including costume designer Sameera Saneesh, makeup artist Ronex Xavier, and sound designer Dhanush Nayanar.

Take a Poll

The first season, titled Kerala Crime Files: Shiju, Parayil Veedu, Neendakara, was released in 2023 and centered on a manhunt led by officers from the Ernakulam North Police Station. It received attention for its grounded portrayal of police work and its tightly structured narrative.

With its second season, the series appears poised to widen its thematic scope while maintaining its procedural roots. Whether The Search for CPO Ambili Raju will retain the taut storytelling of the first installment remains to be seen, but the trailer hints at a story that is both urgent and unsettling.
