Mohanlal Opens Up On Working In A Full-Fledged Bollywood Film

The teaser of one of the most anticipated films of this year-L2: Empuraan was launched at a grand event in Kochi on January 26. The movie is the second installment of a planned trilogy and is a sequel to 2019 blockbuster Malayalam political action thriller film Lucifer.

As promised by the makers the teaser was no less than a visual extravaganza and marks the legendary actor Mohanlal's return as the iconic Stephen Nedumbally, also known as Abraam Khureshi or Lucifer.

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film also features Tovino Thomas, Sukumaran and Manju Warrier in key roles.

Post the teaser launch, superstar Mohanlal met with a section of media at a meet and greet event. In an interaction with selected journalists including Filmibeat, when asked if he is planning to star in a full-fledged Bollywood film, Mohanlal, lovingly known as Lal sir by his fans, replied that he is too busy working in the Malayalam industry and due to his prior commitments he doesn't see himself working in any other cinema industry in the near future.

The actor also opened up on the boom of Malayalam cinema in recent times, adding that the variety in genres is something that the pan India audience loves about the industry. 'Filmmakers here love to experiment and are keen on trying new things while understanding the vision of the directors', said Mohanlal.

Meanwhile in an exclusive interview with Filmibeat, post the teaser launch event, actor-director PrithiviRaj Sukumaran also spoke at length about the film and opened up on how thrilled he was on directing Mohanlal for the third time. When asked how challenging it was to direct a superstar Mohanlal, Sukumaran candidly replied he is the easiest actor to work with, who listens to his director very patiently and is always ready to improvise when needed.
