Malayalam Actor Mukesh In Legal Trouble Again, Second Chargesheet Filed In Sexual Assault Case

Actor Mukesh Faces Second Chargesheet In Sexual Assault Case

Mukesh Faces Second Chargesheet In Sexual Assault Case: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is investigating allegations following the publication of the Hema Committee report, has filed a second chargesheet against veteran actor and Kollam MLA M. Mukesh in a sexual assault case. According to a report by News18, the chargesheet was submitted at the Ernakulam Judicial Magistrate Court. Reports suggest that investigators have supported their claims with digital evidence, including emails and WhatsApp conversations. In addition to electronic proof, witness statements and circumstantial evidence have been presented to strengthen the case.

This development follows a separate case in which the SIT had previously filed a chargesheet at a Wadakkancherry court. In that case, digital records played a crucial role in substantiating the allegations. Just a week ago, the investigation team reportedly submitted another chargesheet before the Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court, once again relying on electronic communication records and other supporting evidence.

Mukesh is facing allegations of sexual assault, with the complainant, a female actor from Aluva, accusing him of making inappropriate advances after promising her membership in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The Maradu police registered the case, initiating an investigation. Mukesh, however, has denied the accusations, claiming that the charges stem from an alleged attempt to blackmail him.

As per the News18 report, the First Information Report (FIR) lists charges under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 376 (rape), Section 354 (assault with intent to outrage a woman's modesty), and Section 509 (insulting a woman through words or gestures). The investigation team has been gathering evidence for the case.

In August last year, Mukesh's legal counsel stated that the actor was fully prepared to cooperate with the police. His lawyer also indicated that if the claims were proven baseless, authorities could file a refer report to dismiss the case. Mukesh has maintained that he is innocent and has accused the complainant of attempting to tarnish his reputation.

Other Malayalam Actors Also Face Accusations

The complainant has also made accusations against other prominent actors, including Idavela Babu, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Jayasurya. She alleged that Idavela Babu made inappropriate demands when she approached him regarding AMMA membership. Furthermore, she claimed that actor Jayasurya acted inappropriately during a 2008 film shoot, alleging that he grabbed her from behind and invited her to his apartment. However, she acknowledged that Jayasurya did not persist after she rejected his advances.
