The film, which hit theaters on May 3, 2024, will soon be available for streaming on the regional OTT platform Saina Play. The platform officially announced the news, confirming that the release is imminent, although an exact premiere date has not yet been disclosed.

Nadikar, directed by Lal Jr. and written by Suvin S. Somasekharan, revolves around the life of David Padikkal, a once-revered film star grappling with a slump in his career. The narrative traces David's fall from superstardom and his attempts to redeem himself amid personal and professional turmoil. Surrounded by his longtime manager, Paily Kuruvilangad, and driver, Lenin, David's journey is one of reckoning-marked by emotional confrontations, introspection, and moments of both self-doubt and resilience.

Nadikar Gears Up For OTT Release After A Long Wait

Initially, Nadikar was rumored to premiere on Netflix by late June 2024 in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. However, reports surfaced suggesting that the platform had opted out of the release. With Netflix reportedly backing out, the film's OTT fate remained unclear until Saina Play stepped in and acquired the streaming rights.

The film features a strong ensemble cast alongside Tovino Thomas, including Soubin Shahir, Bhavana, Divya Pillai, Balu Varghese, and Suresh Krishna. Music for the film was composed by Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha Nair, with cinematography by Alby and editing by Ratheesh Raj. The film's production was jointly handled by Godspeed Cinema and Mythri Movie Makers.
