Narivetta Box Office Collection: Tovino Thomas's latest Malayalam film Narivetta, which hit theaters on May 23, 2025, began its box office run with a decent opening in Kerala. According to data shared by industry tracker AB George, the film grossed ₹1.67 crore across the state on its opening day.

Directed by Anuraj Manohar and written by Abin Joseph, Narivetta is a political action drama inspired by the 2003 Muthanga incident-a controversial and widely debated episode in Kerala's recent history involving the police and members of Adivasi communities. The narrative centers on Varghese, an armed police constable, portrayed by Tovino Thomas, as he navigates his role within the state's security machinery while confronting personal and societal dilemmas.

Narivetta Continues Its Theatrical Run

The film also stars Suraj Venjaramoodu as Basheer Muhammed, a head constable, and marks the Malayalam debut of Tamil filmmaker-actor Cheran, who plays DIG R. Keshavadas. Arya Salim appears as C. K. Shanthi, a character reportedly based on activist C. K. Janu, while Priyamvada Krishnan and Pranav feature in supporting roles.

Production on Narivetta began shortly after its official announcement in July 2024, with principal photography taking place in Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Wayanad. The project was produced by Tippushan and Shiyas Hassan under the Indian Cinema Company banner.

The film's music is by Jakes Bejoy, with cinematography by Vijay and editing by Shameer Muhammad. Narivetta's background score and sound design, managed by Ranganaath Ravee and P.C. Vishnu, respectively, contribute significantly to the film's overall tone and atmosphere.
