Narivetta First Review: Tovino Thomas Gives His Best Performance In 'Classic' Action Drama

Narivetta First Review: Tovino Thomas has been having quite an eventful year so far with two big releases so far including Identity and L2: Empuraan. And while his performance has been appreciated in both the films, Tovino is now back in the headlines for another release. We are talking about Narivetta which is a Malayalam action drama. Helmed by Anuraj Manohar and written by Abin Joseph, Narivetta is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

Also starring Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead, Narivetta also features Cheran in a key role as he makes his debut in the Malayalam industry. For the uninitiated, Narivetta is based on the 2003 Muthanga incident wherein Kerala police had fired on the Adivasis (tribal clans) in the Muthanga village of Wayanad district, Kerala. In a tweet shared on micro-blogging site Twitter, a Twitter user called Narivetta a classic which will leave one emotional. Calling it Tovino Thomas' 'best and appreciable performance', Narivetta is reffered to as 'one of the finest movies in Malayalam industry. "Never been so emotional after watching a movie preview," the tweet read.

Meanwhile, talking about his character in Narivetta, Tovino Thomas stated, "It was a challenging character. Our equation helped me in my performance because it required that I surrender completely to this role. I revealed all my strengths and my weakness to Anurag and I too am entirely dependent on both my director and writer. Only they know the core of my character. We didn't approach this performance with a lot of technicalities. Given the depth and the layers that writer Abin Joseph had added to the character, I had the liberty to perform it from a more emotional state of mind. In some scenes, we shot after we had walked for hours that too right next to a stream or a river. At that point, how my character speaks or behaves, cannot be planned days in advance because everything changes when you're in that atmosphere".
