Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha Re-release: Released on April 14, 1989, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha is considered an iconic film in Malayalam cinema. The film earned widespread acclaim, winning four National Film Awards, including Best Actor for Mammootty, Best Screenplay for M. T. Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha Storyline

Set in 16th-century Kerala, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha follows Chandu, an orphan adopted by Kannappan Chekavar. Amid family rivalries, Chandu's love for Unniyarcha is thwarted by his cousin Aromal. After a series of betrayals, Chandu's loyalty is questioned, leading to tragic events, including a fatal duel with his nephews, Aromal Unni and Kannappan Unni.
