Pharma OTT Release: The Malayalam series Pharma, headlined by Nivin Pauly, is gearing up for its digital debut after earlier premiering at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on 27 November 2024. Directed and written by P. R. Arun, the drama marks Nivin Pauly's first appearance in a web series format and is set to arrive soon on JioHotstar. The platform recently teased the release with a brief social media note stating, "Some pills lie. #HotstarSpecials Pharma, coming soon on JioHotstar," indicating that an official date is expected shortly.

Produced by Krishnan Sethukumar under the Movie Mill banner, Pharma reportedly is a series inspired by real incidents. The series explores the lesser-seen spaces of the Indian pharmaceutical landscape, a sector known for its aggressive targets, intense competition, and internal pressures. At the center of the narrative is a middle-class medical representative, played by Nivin Pauly, who finds himself navigating moral conflicts, corporate expectations, and the personal toll of working within a high-stakes industry.

Pharma Cast and Crew

The series brings together an extensive ensemble cast that includes Rajit Kapur, Shruti Ramachandran, Veena Nandakumar, Narain, and Aalekh Kapoor. Each of them is expected to play key roles that intersect with Nivin Pauly's character as the storyline unfolds across professional and personal terrains.

Earlier reports suggest that Pharma has been planned as a multilingual release, with the episodes set to stream in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. This language expansion is expected to broaden the show's reach across regions.

Director P. R. Arun, known for the Rajisha Vijayan-led film Finals, is returning with long-form storytelling with this project. The technical crew comprises cinematographer Abhinandan Ramanujam, who is handling the visual treatment of the series; editor Sreejith Sarang; and composer Jakes Bejoy, all of whom bring significant experience in Malayalam cinema.

While JioHotstar has yet to announce a confirmed streaming date, the platform's initial promotional push indicates that the release is not far away. With its focus on the pharmaceutical sector and its exploration of the pressures and ethical challenges within the field, Pharma is expected to offer a thrilling narrative once it arrives on the platform.
