Pravinkoodu Shappu OTT Release: Pravinkoodu Shappu, a Malayalam black comedy crime thriller, was released in theaters on January 16, 2025. The film marks the directorial debut of Sreeraj Sreenivasan, who also wrote the screenplay. Produced by Anwar Rasheed under Anwar Rasheed Entertainment, it stars Soubin Shahir, Basil Joseph, and Chemban Vinod Jose, with Chandini Sreedharan, Shivajith, and Shabareesh Varma in supporting roles.
Pravinkoodu Shappu will begin streaming digitally on Sony LIV from April 11. Those who didn't watch the film in theaters can now mark their calendars to watch it from the comfort of their homes.
Pravinkoodu Shappu Premise
The film revolves around the investigation of a death at a toddy shop. One rainy night, after the shop closed, 11 people stayed inside, drinking and playing cards. By morning, the owner, Komban Babu, is found hanging at the center of the shop. A police officer interrogates those present that night, uncovering hidden details that lead to the central mystery-who killed Komban Babu and why his body was left hanging.

Pravinkoodu Shappu features a stellar ensemble cast, including Soubin Shahir, Basil Joseph, Chemban Vinod Jose, Shabareesh Verma, Niyas Aboobecker, Shivajith, and Chandini Sreedharan in key roles. The film also stars Joseph, George, Vijo (Mani), Sandeep, Revathy, Ramkumar, Rajeesh Azheekodan, Devaraj, Prathapan, and Jyothika.

Pravinkoodu Shappu was written and directed by Sreeraj Sreenivasan and produced by Anwar Rasheed. Shyju Khalid handled the cinematography, while Vishnu Vijay composed the music. The film was edited by Shafique Mohamed Ali, with production design by Gokul Das and sound design by Vishnu Govind. AR Ansar served as the executive producer. Lyrics were penned by Mu.Ri, Vinayak Sasikumar, and Suhail Koya, with songs performed by Shakthisree Gopalan, Aparna Harikumar, Padmaja Sreenivasan, Indu Sanath, Dabzee, and Vishnu Vijay. Ronex Xavier handled makeup, and costumes were designed by Sameera Saneesh. Action sequences were choreographed by Kalai Kingson. The production was managed by Biju Thomas, with Boney George as the ARE Manager. Abru Simon served as the chief associate director. VFX was done by Egg White, with color grading by Srik Varier and DI by Poetic. Publicity design was by Yellow Tooths, stills by Rohith K Suresh, and subtitles by Fill In The Blanks. The film was released by A&A Release, with music under Sony Music Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd.
