Dileep's 150th Film Continues Its Theatrical Run
Set in rural Kerala, the story revolves around Prince Chakkalakkal, a reserved bridal boutique owner and the most eligible bachelor in town, who ends up marrying Chinju Rani, a vivacious social media vlogger. Their opposing personalities spark a series of comic and chaotic events in the family setting.
Dileep plays Prince, while newcomer Raniya Raanaa portrays Chinju. The ensemble cast also includes Dhyan Sreenivasan, Siddique, Bindu Panicker, Johny Antony, Manju Pillai, and Josekutty Jacob. The film also features cameos by Urvashi and Vineeth Thattil David.
Prince and Family was produced by Listin Stephen under the Magic Frames banner. It was shot over 85 days across locations in Ooty, Kozhikode, and Ernakulam. The technical team includes Renadive as the cinematographer, Sagar Dass on editing, and music composed by Sanal Dev.
Given its family-centric theme and timing of release during the summer vacation period, the film has benefited from repeat audiences and positive word-of-mouth. Despite competition from other releases, it has managed to hold its ground.
As of now, the film continues to be screened in several theaters across Kerala. With no major Malayalam release lined up in the immediate week, Prince and Family may see a continued presence at the box office into early June.
