Ronth OTT Release: The Malayalam cop drama Ronth, which was released in cinemas this June, is now headed for its OTT premiere. The film, which features Dileesh Pothan and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles, will begin streaming on JioHotstar from July 22, 2025. Viewers will be able to watch the film in Malayalam, as well as in dubbed versions across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

Ronth is written and directed by Shahi Kabir, who previously gained attention for his cop stories in Malayalam cinema. The project was produced by Vineet Jain, Rathish Ambat, Renjith EVM, and Jojo Jose under the banners of Junglee Pictures and Festival Cinemas.

Shahi Kabir Returns With a Cop Drama Rooted in Night Patrols

The film was released in cinemas on June 13, 2025, and follows the story of two police officers working night patrols, one a senior officer grappling with unresolved issues from his past and the other a younger, more idealistic partner. Their conflicting approaches to the job gradually give way to mutual understanding as they navigate high-stakes situations on the job. According to the makers, the film explores themes of fear, duty, trauma, and the human cost of law enforcement.

Alongside Dileesh Pothan and Roshan Mathew, the film features Sudhi Koppa, Arun Cherukavil, Krisha Kurup, Nandanunni, Lakshmi Menon, and Baby Nandhootty in supporting roles.

The technical crew includes Manesh Madhavan as the cinematographer, Praveen Mangalath as the editor, and Anil Johnson as the music composer. The production design was handled by Dileep Nath, while Arun Asok and Sonu KP were in charge of sound design and sync sound. Ronex Xavier handled makeup duties, and Dino Davis and Vishak Sanal Kumar served as the costume designers.

Ronth's move to streaming comes amid increasing interest in Malayalam content on OTT platforms. The film's online release is expected to help it reach a broader audience, particularly outside Kerala. With its themes grounded in realism and a strong cast to support it, the film now prepares for its next phase of viewership in the digital space.
