Sarkeet X Review: What Audiences Are Saying About The Asif Ali, Deepak Parambol, And Divya Prabha Starrer

Sarkeet X Review: Malayalam film Sarkeet, directed by Thamar K V, opened in cinemas on May 8, 2025, and early reactions on X (formerly Twitter) are beginning to offer a glimpse into how the film has landed with viewers. Featuring Asif Ali, Orhan Hyder, Deepak Parambol, and Divya Prabha in lead roles, the movie delves into the emotional complexities faced by a couple striving to hold their family together while living abroad.
Shot entirely in the UAE, Sarkeet follows Balu and Stephy as they navigate the challenges of raising a child with ADHD amid the pressures of demanding jobs and a strained relationship. Their routine is interrupted by the unexpected arrival of a weary stranger, which leads to shifts in their emotional landscape.
About Sarkeet
Sarkeet marks the latest directorial effort from Thamar K V, who previously made his debut with 1001 Nunakal. That film, which premiered directly on Sony LIV in 2022, was noted for its ensemble cast and Gulf setting. With Sarkeet, Thamar once again sets his narrative in the UAE, continuing his interest in stories emerging from Malayali diasporic life.
The cast includes Asif Ali, Divya Prabha, Orhan Hyder, Deepak Parambol, and Swathi Das Prabhu. Asif Ali comes to Sarkeet after a string of hit films, including Thalavan, Kishkindha Kaandam, and Rekhachithram. The script, written by the director himself, focuses on personal and familial dynamics, with production handled by Vinayaka Ajith and Florine Dominic.
The technical crew features cinematography by Aeyaz and editing by Sangeeth Prathap. Music for the film has been composed by Govind Vasantha, with songs performed by Shahbaz Aman, Kabil Kabhilan, Electronic Kili, and the composer himself. The lyrics were penned by Anwar Ali and Suhail Koya.
Sarkeet also brought together a sizable creative and production team. Art direction was handled by Vishvanathan Aravind, while Irshad Cherukunnu worked on costume design. Sound design was led by Dhanush Nayanar, with sync sound by Vaishak PV and re-recording mixing by Fazal A Backer. Visual effects were produced by Nocturnal Octave Productions.
The film is being distributed in the UAE and other international markets by Phars Films, while Ajith Vinayaka Films handles distribution in Kerala and other parts of India. Publicity materials and digital marketing were managed by Illuminartist and Aromal Puthuvalil, respectively.
As Sarkeet begins its theatrical run, further updates on its performance and reach are expected in the coming days. Whether through word-of-mouth or critical engagement, the film's progress will be closely watched, particularly given the team behind it and the setting in which the story unfolds.
