Sreenath Bhasi Allegedly Demanded Cannabis During Film Shoot, Says Namukku Kodathiyil Kaanam Producer

Sreenath Bhasi Allegedly Demanded Cannabis On Set

Sreenath Bhasi Accused Of Demanding Cannabis During Film Shoot: Amid ongoing concerns about drug use in the Malayalam film industry, actor Sreenath Bhasi has been accused of requesting cannabis while on the sets of his upcoming film Namukku Kodathiyil Kaanam. The claim was made by the film's producer, Haseeb Malabar, during an interview with Mathrubhumi News.

According to Haseeb, the incident took place during the film's shoot in Kozhikode. He recounted receiving a phone call around 3 a.m.-not from the actor himself, but from a junior crew member-conveying that Sreenath Bhasi had urgently demanded cannabis and might not show up on set the next morning unless he received it.

Haseeb went on to claim that Sreenath Bhasi managed to get cannabis to the location and would isolate himself in his caravan to use it. According to him, Bhasi did not allow anyone else inside while he smoked. Haseeb explained that, despite being aware of the situation, the production team chose not to escalate matters out of concern for the film's future. He said they had already invested a significant amount of money, and their priority was to complete the shoot and ensure the film's release. Pursuing legal action, he felt, could have jeopardized the entire project. Haseeb also expressed frustration that some producers, unaware of Bhasi's alleged behavior, continue to sign him and even offer advances.

Shine Tom Chacko Faces Investigation Amid Drug Allegations

This allegation follows actress Vincy Aloshious's complaint against Shine Tom Chacko, accusing him of misbehaving on a film set while allegedly under the influence of drugs. The matter is currently being examined by a three-member panel formed by AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists).

In a related development, Shine Tom Chacko reportedly fled from a hotel in Kochi last night during a surprise raid conducted by Kerala Police's District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF). Based on a tip-off about suspected drug use, police arrived at the location, but the actor allegedly escaped by jumping from the third floor before fleeing through a side exit. A search of the hotel room yielded no substances.
