Mohanlal s Thudarum Box Office Collection Day 7 Prediction

Thudarum Box Office Collection Prediction: Mohanlal's crime thriller Thudarum has maintained strong momentum at the box office during its first week. Directed by Tharun Moorthy and co-written with K. R. Sunil, the film has amassed approximately ₹44 crore in net collections across India within six days and continues to perform steadily in key territories. According to film industry tracker AB George, the film has recorded consistently high footfall in Kerala, reportedly crossing 25 lakh admissions in six days-making it the second-fastest Malayalam film to reach the milestone, following Empuraan.

George also notes that Thudarum has crossed the ₹10 crore mark in Rest of India (ROI) gross collections. The six-day ROI gross total for the Malayalam version stands at ₹9.65 crore. This is a significant achievement, considering the typically limited screen space available to Malayalam films outside Kerala.

Released on 25 April 2025, the film's performance suggests that audience interest has not waned significantly through the weekdays. After a weekend surge, the numbers remained strong on Monday and Tuesday, with a minor dip reported by mid-week. The seventh day saw a predictable slowdown, but the film continued to add a respectable amount to its total, based on current estimates.

Thudarum features Mohanlal in the role of Shanmugham, a taxi driver whose ordinary life takes a dark turn after an unexpected series of events. The narrative begins in the hill town of Ranni, where the character lives with his wife, Lalitha (played by Shobana), and children. Following a short trip, Shanmugham finds his cherished vintage car seized by the police, unknowingly becoming entangled in a crime.

The story unfolds into a tense, personal journey as Shanmugham is drawn into a troubling chain of events that alters his family's life. Blending family drama with crime thriller elements, the film reflects Tharun Moorthy's inclination toward socially relevant storytelling.

The idea for Thudarum reportedly originated with co-writer K. R. Sunil, a documentary photographer who drew inspiration from a real-life incident he encountered during his travels. Tharun Moorthy was brought on board to direct the film due to his previous work and his grasp of complex characters. Mohanlal had expressed interest in the story early in its development, even before Tharun joined the project.

The supporting cast includes Prakash Varma, Binu Pappu, Farhaan Faasil, Irshad Ali, and Aarsha Chandini Baiju, among others. The technical crew includes Shaji Kumar (cinematography), Jakes Bejoy (music and score), and editors Shafeeque VB and Nishadh Yusuf.

In terms of distribution and production, Thudarum was backed by Rejaputhra Visual Media with M. Renjith producing.

Looking ahead, the film's box office run will depend on how it sustains interest during the second weekend, especially with competition from other releases. Given its opening week trajectory and relatively strong word-of-mouth, Thudarum may continue to perform decently, even if not at the same pace.

Final figures for Day 7 will become clearer as updated data rolls in. But as it stands, Thudarum has already established itself as one of the major Malayalam releases of 2025, both in terms of box office numbers and audience attention.
