Thudarum Box Office Collection: Mohanlal's Movie Becomes Second Fastest ₹100 Crore Grosser From Mollywood

Thudarum Box Office Collection: Thudarum, the Malayalam crime thriller starring Mohanlal, has crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the worldwide box office within just six days of its theatrical release, making it the second-fastest Malayalam film to achieve this milestone. The film, directed by Tharun Moorthy and produced by M. Renjith under Rejaputhra Visual Media, hit screens on April 25 and has quickly emerged as a blockbuster.

According to trade analyst AB George, who shared an update on social media platform X, Thudarum is now the eleventh Malayalam film to surpass the ₹100 crore mark globally and the fourth film featuring Mohanlal to do so. Only Empuraan reached the ₹100 crore milestone faster, taking just two days. Other recent high-grossing Malayalam films on the list include Aadujeevitham, 2018, Manjummel Boys, and Lucifer.

Thudarum: A Crime Thriller Set in Rural Kerala

Set in rural Kerala, Thudarum revolves around Shanmugham, a taxi driver played by Mohanlal, whose life takes a dark turn after his car is linked to a criminal investigation. What begins as a domestic drama quickly spirals into a gripping thriller as Shanmugham becomes entangled in a disturbing case that leads to a shocking revelation. The screenplay was co-written by the director and K.R. Sunil, a documentary photographer who developed the story based on a real-life encounter during his travels.

The cast includes Shobana, Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Thomas Mathew, among others. The ensemble has been credited for bringing depth and nuance to the film's emotionally charged narrative.

On the technical side, the film includes cinematography by Shaji Kumar and music by Jakes Bejoy. Editing was done by Shafeeque VB and Nishadh Yusuf, with production design by Gokul Das, costumes by Sameera Saneesh, and makeup by Pattanam Rasheed. Executive production was overseen by Avantika Renjith.

Adding to the film's ongoing momentum, the promotional song "Kondattam" is set to release this evening at 6 PM. The track, composed by Jakes Bejoy and sung by MG Sreekumar and Rajalakshmy, features choreography by Brinda Master and editing by Donmax.

With positive word-of-mouth and continued interest from audiences across India and overseas, Thudarum is expected to remain strong at the box office in the coming weeks.
