The film has now surpassed Leo, the Vijay-starrer that previously held the second position for the fastest to cross ₹50 crore in the state.
According to a report by Asianet News, Leo had achieved the ₹50 crore mark in 10 days, while Thudarum has done it in just eight. The only film to have done it faster is Mohanlal's own Empuraan, which crossed the threshold in just five days, making Thudarum the second-fastest Malayalam film to reach this benchmark in Kerala.
Thudarum, which hit theatres on April 25, 2025, opened to strong reviews and has since sustained interest through its second weekend. Its performance is also notable globally, with film industry tracker AB George reporting a seven-day gross of $4.36 million (approximately ₹37 crore) from the Middle East region.
The domestic success adds to Thudarum's growing stature, having already crossed ₹100 crore worldwide within the first six days of release. With this, Thudarum becomes Mohanlal's fourth film to gross over ₹50 crore in Kerala, joining Pulimurugan, Lucifer, and Empuraan. Among the 15 films to ever cross the ₹50 crore mark in Kerala, four now belong to Mohanlal-more than any other actor.
In terms of ranking, Thudarum now stands second, followed by Leo in third (10 days), KGF 2 in fourth (11 days), and Aadujeevitham in fifth (12 days).
