Thudarum Gulf Box Office Collection: Mohanlal's Movie Registers Strong Opening Weekend With ₹27.3 Crore Gross

Thudarum Gulf Box Office Mohanlal s Movie Earns 27 3 Crore

Thudarum Gulf Box Office Collection: Thudarum, the latest Malayalam drama thriller starring Mohanlal and Shobana, has made a strong impact at the Gulf box office following its theatrical release on April 25, 2025. Directed by Tharun Moorthy and produced by M. Renjith under Rejaputhra Visual Media, the film has been receiving widespread critical acclaim, particularly for the performances of Mohanlal and Prakash Varma.

According to film industry tracker AB George, Thudarum has delivered a super-duper opening weekend in the Gulf region, where Mohanlal enjoys a strong fan base. The film garnered impressive box office numbers over its opening weekend, raking in $895K on Friday, $1.27M on Saturday, and $1.03M on Sunday. Region-wise, the film earned $2.40M in the UAE, $157K in Saudi Arabia, and $638K across the GCC, bringing the total to a staggering $3.195M (₹27.3 Crores). However, it missed a potential $4.5M+ weekend due to its Friday release, still marking a remarkable performance in the Gulf market.

Thudarum UAE Box Office Collection

In an earlier update shared by AB George on X, Thudarum registered an opening weekend gross of $2,393,607 (approximately ₹20.45 crore) from 207,767 admissions in the UAE. This performance is particularly notable considering the film opened in just 58 locations with relatively fewer shows.

Further highlighting the film's strong performance, AB George compared Thudarum's Sunday admissions to other top Indian films in the UAE. With 75,823 admissions on Sunday, Thudarum ranked just behind major titles like Empuraan (101,082 admissions) and Jawan (76,621 admissions), surpassing Pathaan (68,457 admissions). This positions Thudarum among the top-performing Indian films in the region despite its limited release.

Thudarum Advance Bookings

Back home in Kerala, the film's momentum continues to be strong. According to another update from AB George, the advance bookings for Thudarum showed no signs of slowing down. The first Monday after release saw a "zero drop" in bookings, and the advance sales for Wednesday had already crossed ₹1.1 crore across 993 shows. Thursday's advance stood at ₹59 lakh from 448 shows at the time of reporting, indicating sustained interest from the audience.

About Thudarum

Thudarum is based on a story developed by K.R. Sunil, a documentary photographer known for his travels across Kerala. Inspired by a real-life encounter, the narrative was shaped into a film under the direction of Tharun Moorthy, who was approached by Sunil and Renjith for his ability to handle complex characters and emotional storytelling. Notably, Mohanlal was attached to the project even before Moorthy came on board, having shown early interest in the story's premise.

With critical praise and strong box office numbers both domestically and overseas, Thudarum appears poised to continue its successful theatrical run in the coming weeks.
