Thudarum Kerala Box Office 22 Days Collection: Mohanlal’s Film Inches Past ₹105 Crore Mark

Thudarum Kerala Box Office Collection: Tharun Moorthy's Malayalam crime thriller Thudarum has completed 22 days in theatres and continues its run with steady performance across Kerala. Starring Mohanlal and Shobana in the lead roles, the film has reportedly grossed ₹105.04 crore at the Kerala box office as of May 16, according to figures shared by industry tracker AB George.
Released on April 25, Thudarum, starring Mohanlal in the lead, opened to considerable anticipation, driven in part by the collaboration between director Tharun Moorthy and writer K.R. Sunil, who co-developed the screenplay. Produced by M. Renjith under Rejaputhra Visual Media, the film has held its ground in a competitive release calendar and continues to draw audiences, especially over weekends and holidays.
Early estimates for Day 22 (May 16) suggest the film earned around ₹1.49 crore in Kerala. The film's steady earning pattern indicates strong word-of-mouth and sustained viewer interest. While the overall pace has naturally slowed from its initial days, its hold over single screens and select multiplexes remains notable.
Thudarum Continues Steady Run At Kerala Box Office
Thudarum follows the story of a former stuntman who now works as a taxi driver in a quiet hill town. His seemingly simple life takes a turn after an incident involving his car draws him into the world of corrupt law enforcement. What begins as a personal struggle evolves into a larger confrontation with the system, anchored by themes of betrayal, familial conflict, and justice.
The film's genesis lies in a real-life encounter experienced by K.R. Sunil, a documentary photographer. Inspired by a moment he witnessed during his travels, the story took shape and eventually landed in the hands of director Tharun Moorthy. Mohanlal was attached to the project early in development, having expressed interest in the concept before the director came onboard.
Apart from Mohanlal and Shobana, the film features a large ensemble cast including Prakash Varma, Binu Pappu, Thomas Mathew, Farhaan Faasil, and Aarsha Chandini Baiju. The technical crew includes cinematographer Shaji Kumar and music composer Jakes Bejoy, with the editing team led by Shafeeque VB and Nishadh Yusuf.
With Thudarum now in its fourth week, the weekend and the coming days will indicate how much further the film can extend its theatrical run amidst new releases.
