Thudarum Kerala Box Office Collection: ₹97 Crore In 18 Days, Mohanlal's Film Inches Toward ₹100 Crore Mark

Thudarum Kerala Box Office Collection 97 Crore In 18 Days

Thudarum Kerala Box Office Collection: The Malayalam crime thriller Thudarum, featuring Mohanlal in the lead, continues its steady run at the Kerala box office. According to early estimates from industry tracker AB George, the film has grossed approximately ₹97.70 crore in the state over its 18-day theatrical run.

On its 18th day, May 12, Thudarum is estimated to have earned ₹2.70 crore from theaters in Kerala. With this, the film is edging closer to the ₹100 crore milestone in the state alone-an achievement that, if confirmed, would place it among the top-grossing Malayalam films in recent years.

Thudarum's Story, Development, and Production Crew

Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy, was released in theaters on April 25, 2025. The film was produced by M. Renjith under the Rejaputhra Visual Media banner, and the screenplay was co-written by Moorthy and K.R. Sunil. It stars Mohanlal and Shobana, with a supporting cast that includes Prakash Varma, Binu Pappu, Farhaan Faasil, Thomas Mathew, and Aarsha Chandini Baiju.

Set in the town of Ranni, the story follows Shanmugham, also known as Benz, a taxi driver who lives a quiet life with his family. A run-in with local police over a case of mistaken involvement in a crime pulls him into a deeper, more troubling situation. What unfolds is a tense narrative involving law enforcement, personal tragedy, and a father's quest for truth.

The script, conceived by documentary photographer K.R. Sunil, was reportedly inspired by a real-life encounter during his travels. Sunil and producer Renjith brought the idea to Tharun Moorthy, who was chosen for his experience in handling emotionally layered stories. Mohanlal was attached to the project from its early stages, having shown interest in the story well before the director came on board.

The film's crew includes Shaji Kumar as cinematographer, Jakes Bejoy as composer, and editors Shafeeque VB and Nishadh Yusuf. Costume design was handled by Sameera Saneesh, with makeup by Pattanam Rasheed.

Now in its third week in theaters, Thudarum continues its strong run, with attention focused on whether it will cross the ₹100 crore mark in Kerala.
