Thudarum Kerala Box Office Collection: Mohanlal's Crime Thriller Grosses ₹33.65 Crore In 5 Days

Thudarum Kerala BO Mohanlal Film Hits 33 65 Cr In 5 Days

Thudarum Kerala Box Office Collection: Mohanlal's Malayalam crime thriller Thudarum continues its strong theatrical run, having collected ₹33.65 crore at the Kerala box office within its first five days. The figures, shared by film industry tracker AB George on X (formerly Twitter), place the film among the top earners in the state this year.

Released on April 25, 2025, Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy, has garnered considerable attention for its storytelling and for reuniting Mohanlal and Shobana on screen. The film is produced by M. Renjith under the Rejaputhra Visual Media banner and co-written by Tharun Moorthy and K. R. Sunil.

About Thudarum

Set in rural Kerala, Thudarum follows Shanmugham, a taxi driver who shares a quiet life with his family and his cherished vintage car. A disagreement with his son triggers a chain of events that entangles him in a police operation under murky circumstances. As he navigates an increasingly tense situation involving law enforcement and a drive into the hills, Shanmugham returns home visibly altered. What follows is a subtle unraveling of emotions and suspicions within the household. The film steadily explores how a seemingly ordinary man is drawn into a series of events far beyond his control or understanding.

While the story is fictional, co-writer Sunil has stated that it was inspired by a real-life incident he encountered during his travels as a documentary photographer. He and producer Renjith approached Tharun Moorthy with the script, impressed by his previous work's ability to handle emotional nuance. Mohanlal had reportedly shown interest in the concept even before Tharun Moorthy came on board.

Alongside Mohanlal and Shobana, the cast includes Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Binu Pappu, Thomas Mathew, Maniyanpilla Raju, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, and Krishna Prabha, among others. The technical team features Shaji Kumar as the cinematographer, Jakes Bejoy as the music composer, and editors Shafeeque VB and Nishadh Yusuf.

As the film enters its second week, it remains to be seen how the numbers hold up, but the current box office figures suggest strong word-of-mouth and sustained interest from audiences.
