A Crime Drama Set In Rural Backdrop

Set in the quiet town of Ranni, Thudarum follows the life of Shanmugham, a taxi driver known as 'Benz,' played by Mohanlal. His seemingly peaceful life is upended when his cherished vintage car is impounded for a crime he claims to have no part in. The story intensifies when a police officer offers to release the car in exchange for a late-night ride, leading Shanmugham into a web of corruption, loss, and moral dilemmas. As the narrative unfolds, his journey becomes one of personal retribution and the quest for justice.

The screenplay, co-written by K. R. Sunil, is inspired by real-life encounters during Sunil's travels as a documentary photographer. Tharun Moorthy's direction brings the characters to life, resonating strongly with both critics and audiences.

The film features an ensemble cast led by Mohanlal as Shanmugham and Shobana as his wife, Lalitha. Supporting roles include Prakash Varma as CI/DYSP George Mathan, Binu Pappu as SI Benny C Kurian, and Thomas Mathew as Shanmugham's son, Pavi. Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Aarsha Chandini Baiju also appear in supporting roles.

The technical crew includes cinematographer Shaji Kumar, who contributed to the film's visual style, while Shafeeque VB and Nishadh Yusuf handled the editing. The music, composed by Jakes Bejoy, supported the narrative's emotional tone.

As Thudarum continues its run at the box office, industry watchers are observing how the film performs in the coming weeks. With a strong opening and steady box office performance, Thudarum is expected to maintain its position and may continue to see growth in its collections.
