Thudarum Worldwide Box Office Collection: Mohanlal's Movie Crosses ₹225 Crore Globally In 27 Days

Thudarum Worldwide Box Office Collection: The Malayalam crime thriller Thudarum, starring Mohanlal in the lead, continues its strong performance at the box office nearly a month after its release. According to early estimates from film industry tracker AB George, the film has grossed approximately ₹225.75 crore worldwide within 27 days of its theatrical run, placing it among the top three highest-grossing Malayalam films to date.

Thudarum was released on April 25, 2025, and has managed to maintain momentum both in Kerala and in overseas markets. The film's Kerala gross has reportedly reached ₹113.45 crore, making it the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever in the state. On a global scale, the film is now the third highest-grossing Malayalam film, trailing behind Empuraan (₹265.5 crore) and Manjummel Boys (₹241.2 crore).

The worldwide share of Thudarum currently stands at ₹94.7 crore, which positions it just behind Empuraan in terms of overall returns to producers and distributors. The film's success is also evident in its consistent daily earnings in Kerala, with over ₹1 crore collected per day for 27 consecutive days.

About Thudarum

Helmed by Tharun Moorthy, who co-wrote the screenplay with K. R. Sunil, Thudarum follows the story of Shanmugham, also known as Benz-a former stuntman turned taxi driver living in Perunad Ranni. The plot kicks off when Benz's car is seized by police in connection with a smuggling case, pulling him into a murky investigation involving police misconduct and a missing person case.

The project was developed by Sunil, a documentary photographer, who drew inspiration from a real-life incident. Tharun Moorthy was brought on board after producer felt his storytelling style aligned with the film's tone. Mohanlal had been associated with the film from an early stage, having shown interest in the story long before the director was finalized.

Alongside Mohanlal, the cast includes Shobana, Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, and several others. The film's technical team features Shaji Kumar on cinematography, Jakes Bejoy handling music and background score, and editing by Shafeeque VB and Nishadh Yusuf. Thudarum was produced by M. Renjith under the banner Rejaputhra Visual Media.
