Thudarum Worldwide Box Office Collection: Mohanlal's Thriller Crosses ₹69 Crore In Three Days

Thudarum Box Office Collection: Thudarum, the latest Malayalam drama thriller featuring Mohanlal and Shobana, has posted strong numbers at the global box office in its opening weekend. Directed by Tharun Moorthy and produced by M. Renjith under Rejaputhra Visual Media, the film was released theatrically on April 25, 2025.

According to official figures shared by the production team on social media, Thudarum has collected more than ₹69 crore worldwide in its first three days. Film industry tracker AB George also confirmed the performance, noting that the movie recorded a three-day gross of ₹69.25 crore.

Breaking down the collection, Thudarum earned ₹17.18 crore on its opening day (Friday), followed by ₹25.9 crore on Saturday and ₹26.15 crore on Sunday. This performance has positioned the film as the second-highest opening weekend for a Malayalam film, trailing only behind Empuraan. Notably, it surpassed the four-day opening weekend total of Aadujeevitham within just three days.

About Thudarum

Thudarum features Mohanlal in the role of Benz, a taxi driver in a tranquil Kerala town whose life takes a dark turn following a series of unexpected events. The plot follows Benz as he becomes entangled in a web of crime and corruption after the disappearance of his son. What begins with the seizure of his beloved vintage car gradually unfolds into a deeper story of betrayal and personal tragedy.

The film's story was initially conceived by K.R. Sunil, a documentary photographer who based it on an incident encountered during his travels. Sunil, along with producer M. Renjith, approached Tharun Moorthy to direct the project, believing he could effectively handle the emotional depth and complexity of the narrative. Mohanlal had been associated with the project early on, having expressed interest in the story well before Tharun Moorthy officially came on board.
