Vilaayath Budha Box Office Collection: Vilaayath Budha, the Malayalam drama featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shammi Thilakan in pivotal roles, continues its theatrical run as it enters its seventh day in cinemas today, November 27. The film, directed by debutant Jayan Nambiar, opened in theaters on November 21, 2025, and has completed its first six days at the domestic box office with moderate collections.
According to estimates reported by box office tracking website Sacnilk, Vilaayath Budha has earned approximately ₹4.36 crore net in India during its first six days of release. While the makers have not issued any official figures yet, early trends suggest that the film witnessed a gradual decline in daily collections after a reasonable opening day.
The film collected an estimated ₹1.7 crore on its opening Friday. On Saturday, the collections dropped to around ₹1 crore, followed by ₹0.75 crore on Sunday. The weekday figures saw further decline, with Monday and Tuesday recording approximately ₹0.35 crore each. By Wednesday, the sixth day of release, the film's earnings stood at around ₹0.21 crore, based on rough early estimates. With the seventh day underway today, official numbers for Thursday are yet to be reported.
Vilaayath Budha: Story, Key Crew, and Cast
Set in the forest region of Marayoor, Vilaayath Budha revolves around a conflict between two central characters, Bhaskaran Master and his protégé Double Mohanan, over the ownership of a rare sandalwood tree planted years ago. The narrative explores how the personal rivalry gradually escalates into a larger confrontation, with legal, social, and emotional consequences. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays Double Mohanan, while Shammi Thilakan essays the role of Bhaskaran Master.
The film is adapted from the novel of the same name by G. R. Indugopan. The project was originally conceptualized by late filmmaker Sachy in 2020. Following his demise in June that year, Jayan Nambiar, who had worked closely with him, took over the direction of the film and completed the project.
Vilaayath Budha has been produced by Sandip Senan and A. V. Anoop, with Sangeeth Senan serving as the executive producer. The technical crew includes cinematographer Arvind S. Kashyap, music composer Jakes Bejoy, and editor Sreejith Sarang. The film's sound design was handled by Ajayan Adat and Piousmon Sunny, with M. R. Rajakrishnan overseeing sound mixing. Visual effects were executed by Black Maria Studio, Accel Media, A 2K24 Company, and Spectre Post Pvt Ltd.
The supporting cast of the film features Anu Mohan, Dhruvan, Kiran Peethambaran, Adat Gopalan, Pramod Veliyanadu, Vinod Thomas, Teejay Arunachalam, Priyamvada Krishnan, and Rajasree Nair, among others.
As the film moves into its second week, trade observers will closely monitor its performance to see whether it benefits from the weekend push or stabilizes further at the box office. With fresh releases and ongoing competition in theaters, Vilaayath Budha's weekday trend in the coming days is expected to determine its overall theatrical outcome.
