Vincy Aloshious Files Formal Complaint Against Shine Tom Chacko Over Alleged Drug Use On Film Set

Vincy Aloshious Complains Against Shine Tom Chacko

Vincy Aloshious Files Complaint Against Shine Tom Chacko: Malayalam actress Vincy Aloshious has taken a significant step in a controversy that has shaken the film industry. According to a report by Twenty Four News, the actress has officially filed a complaint against actor Shine Tom Chacko, alleging drug use on the set of the film Soothravakyam. The complaint has been submitted to multiple industry bodies, including the Film Chamber, the film's Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), and the prominent actors' association, AMMA.

Vincy's complaint comes days after she made a public disclosure through a video on Instagram, where she described troubling incidents that occurred during the film's production. Though she did not name the actor in her initial video, the formal complaint reportedly identifies Shine Tom Chacko.

In her email to AMMA, Vincy described witnessing the actor spitting out a white powdery substance during a rehearsal, raising suspicions of narcotics use on set. She further alleged that the actor had behaved inappropriately with her during the shoot, particularly while appearing to be under the influence. Despite the discomfort and emotional toll, she said she chose to complete the project out of respect for her fellow crew members.

The allegations have triggered a formal response from AMMA, which has set up a three-member committee to look into the matter. The inquiry panel includes actors Vinu Mohan, Anziba Hassan, and Sarayu and is expected to examine the nature of the complaint and recommend possible action.

Excise Department begins inquiry as industry reacts

Meanwhile, the Excise Department in Kochi has reportedly taken note of the allegations. According to reports, officials have confirmed that they are in the process of gathering information from Vincy as part of a preliminary inquiry. However, they clarified that a formal case can only be registered if a written complaint is submitted along with adequate supporting evidence. They added that a public allegation alone is not sufficient to initiate legal proceedings.

Vincy's decision to come forward with these claims has sparked a wider discussion within the Malayalam film industry about substance abuse and accountability. In her earlier social media statement, the actress had vowed never to work again with actors who use drugs, emphasizing the need to maintain a safe and respectful working environment.

While the accused actor has yet to respond publicly to the complaint, the developments have added pressure on both industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies to address substance abuse on film sets with greater seriousness.
