As the film entered Day 4 of its run on Sunday, February 8, early trade figures point to a measured start, with modest collections reported from Kerala and other regions.

According to a box office update shared on X by trade tracker Jerin Georgekutty, Aashaan has earned an estimated ₹78.20 lakh in total domestic collections over its first three days. Of this, Kerala accounts for the largest share with approximately ₹68 lakh, while Karnataka contributed around ₹5.70 lakh. The remaining ₹4.50 lakh came from other parts of India. The three-day distributor share is estimated to be about ₹38 lakh. It has been clarified that these figures are trade estimates and not official numbers released by the film's producers. The film's performance in the coming days will be key to assessing how it holds beyond the opening weekend.
Film Overview, Plot, and Early Box Office Outlook
Written and directed by Johnpaul George, Aashaan is produced under the banner Guppy Cinemas, with Wayfarer Films handling its theatrical release. The film positions itself as a "movie within a movie," blending drama and humour while offering a look at the inner workings of the film industry.
The story follows Aashaan, a man who dreams of working in cinema. His routine life changes when a large film crew arrives, bringing him closer to the world he has always admired. As he tries to find his place around the film set, Aashaan comes face to face with the realities of filmmaking, balancing his hopes with what unfolds behind the scenes.
Alongside Indrans, the cast includes Joemon Jyothir, Shobi Thilakan, Bibin Perumbilli, Abin Bino, and Madan Gowri, among others. On the technical front, the film features cinematography by Vimal Jose Thachil and editing by Kiran Das. Music and background score are composed by Johnpaul George and Ajeesh Anto, respectively, with sound mixing handled by M. R. Rajakrishnan.
As Aashaan nears the end of Day 4, its box office performance over the weekend and the early weekday trend will be key in determining how the film holds going forward. The coming days are expected to offer clearer insight into whether it can sustain its initial collections or faces a gradual slowdown.
