Ananthan Kaadu Box Office Collection Day 3: Arya's Film Faces Weekend Decline, Sunday Collections Key

Ananthan Kaadu Box Office Collection: Arya-starrer Ananthan Kaadu has completed three days in theatres, with the political action thriller posting modest box office numbers during its opening weekend. Released on June 25 in Tamil and Malayalam, the film entered cinemas with expectations surrounding its period setting and socio-political narrative. However, the day-wise collections show a gradual decline over its first three days in theatres.

According to figures shared by box office tracker Jerin Georgekutty on X on Sunday morning (June 28), Ananthan Kaadu has earned an estimated ₹2.19 crore at the domestic box office by the end of Day 3. The film's worldwide gross is said to be around ₹2.74 crore.

The state-wise domestic collections show Kerala emerging as the film's strongest market. The movie has reportedly collected ₹1.18 crore in Kerala, followed by ₹95 lakh from Tamil Nadu. Karnataka contributed around ₹5.5 lakh, while the rest of India accounted for approximately ₹32,000, taking the overall domestic total to ₹2.19 crore.

The language-wise breakup also indicates that the Malayalam version has outperformed the Tamil version at the domestic box office. The Malayalam version has reportedly earned around ₹1.26 crore, while the Tamil version has contributed close to ₹93 lakh over the first three days.

The day-wise trend suggests that the collections have steadily declined since release. Ananthan Kaadu opened with approximately ₹83.65 lakh on Day 1. The second day brought in an estimated ₹68.83 lakh, marking a drop of nearly 17.7 per cent from the opening day. On Day 3, the film collected around ₹65.59 lakh, representing another 4.7 per cent decline compared to Saturday.

According to the tracker, Sunday's performance will be important in determining whether the film can stabilise its theatrical run. Since the Day 4 collections are still underway on June 28, the complete Sunday figures are expected only after the day's shows conclude.

Ananthan Kaadu Story, Cast and Crew

Directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar and written by Murali Gopy, Ananthan Kaadu is set during the late 1980s and early 1990s, a period marked by political and social unrest. The story follows four mercenaries from the slums of a state capital, exploring their involvement in violence, politics and shifting power structures against the backdrop of a turbulent era.

The film features Arya in the lead role alongside Regina Cassandra, Nikhila Vimal, Sunil, Indrans, Dev Mohan, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Vijayaraghavan, Achyuth Kumar, Bose Venkat, Ajay, Sagar Surya, Sarath Appani, Anjali P. Nair and Santhy Balachandran, among others.
