Athiradi Box Office Collection Day 13: Tovino Thomas And Basil Joseph Film Sees Gradual Weekday Drop

Athiradi Box Office Collection: The Malayalam action-comedy Athiradi continued its theatrical run into the second week with moderate weekday collections at the box office. Starring Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph, the film has managed to maintain a steady presence in theatres since its release earlier this month.

According to trade tracking platform Sacnilk, Athiradi collected an estimated ₹0.53 crore net in India on Day 13 across 789 shows. With the latest figures, the film's total India net collection now stands at ₹33 crore. Its India gross collection has reached ₹38.27 crore so far.

The overseas market has also contributed to the film's overall earnings. The film has reportedly grossed ₹24.65 crore internationally, taking the total worldwide gross collection to ₹62.92 crore after 13 days in theatres.

The film began its run with preview shows a day earlier, collecting ₹0.52 crore before its full release. It later opened to ₹5.55 crore on Day 1 and recorded strong first weekend collections. Saturday collections stood at ₹5.10 crore, while Sunday emerged as the strongest day of the opening weekend with ₹5.60 crore net.

After the initial weekend, the film experienced the expected weekday slowdown. Collections gradually reduced through the first week, ending with a total India net of ₹28.15 crore. During the second weekend, the film saw a slight improvement again, earning ₹1.27 crore on Saturday and ₹1.53 crore on Sunday before dropping to ₹0.57 crore on Monday and ₹0.53 crore on Tuesday.

The film's occupancy on Day 13 stood at around 20 percent across 789 shows. Compared to the opening week, the number of shows has reduced significantly during the second week as newer releases entered cinemas.

Athiradi Story, Cast And Crew

Directed by Arun Anirudhan, Athiradi follows Samkutty, a civil engineering student trying to bring back his college's once-popular "Arohan" fest, which had been banned after a stampede incident years earlier. However, his plans take an unexpected turn when actor Vineeth Sreenivasan and music composer Shaan Rahman are kidnapped by a notorious gangster-turned-musician known as Thotta Kuttan.

Apart from Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph, the cast also includes Riya Shibu and Zarin Shihab in key roles. The film features music composed by Vishnu Vijay, cinematography by Samuel Henry and editing by Chaman Chakko.

Produced by Basil Joseph and Dr. Ananthu S, the film entered Day 14 on May 27 with attention now shifting to how it performs during the remaining weekdays before the upcoming weekend.
