Athiradi Box Office Collection Day 5: Tovino Thomas And Basil Joseph Film Nears ₹50 Crore Worldwide

Athiradi Box Office Collection: Athiradi, starring Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph, continued its theatrical run on Monday, May 18, after recording steady collections during its extended opening weekend. The Malayalam action comedy, which arrived in theatres on May 14 following a paid premiere on May 13, saw a decline in collections on its first weekday but remained stable overall at the box office.

As per estimates reported by box office tracking platform Sacnilk, the film collected around ₹2.25 crore net in India on Day 5. With this, the movie's total India net collection has reached approximately ₹23.27 crore, while the India gross collection stands at ₹26.99 crore so far.

The overseas market continued to contribute significantly to the film's performance. On Monday, Athiradi reportedly earned around ₹1.50 crore overseas, taking its total international gross collection to ₹22.50 crore. Combined with domestic earnings, the film's worldwide gross has now reached ₹49.49 crore.

The film opened with paid premiere earnings of ₹0.52 crore on Wednesday before officially beginning its theatrical run on Thursday with ₹5.55 crore net. Collections dipped slightly on Friday with ₹4.25 crore but picked up again over the weekend. Saturday brought in ₹5.10 crore, while Sunday turned out to be the film's strongest day so far with ₹5.60 crore net in India.

Monday's decline was in line with the usual weekday trend after a busy opening weekend. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 28 percent across 1,555 shows on Day 5.

Athiradi Storyline, Cast and Crew

Directed by Arun Anirudhan, Athiradi has been produced by Basil Joseph and Ananthu S, with Sameer Thahir and Tovino Thomas serving as co-producers. The screenplay has been written by Paulson Skaria and Arun Anirudhan.

The film also features Vineeth Sreenivasan, Riya Shibu and Zarin Shihab in key roles. Music for the project has been composed by Vishnu Vijay, while cinematography has been handled by Samuel Henry and editing by Chaman Chakko.

The story follows Samkutty, an engineering student attempting to revive his college's cultural fest, "Arohan." His plans take an unexpected turn after the event's chief guest is abducted by Sreekuttan, a former goon who has reinvented himself as a musician.

As the film moves into Day 6 on Tuesday, attention will now shift to whether Athiradi can maintain its hold during the weekdays ahead of its second weekend at the box office.
