Athiradi OTT Release: Athiradi, the Malayalam action-comedy featuring Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph in key roles, is set for its digital debut after completing its theatrical run. The film, directed by Arun Anirudhan, arrived in cinemas on May 14, 2026, following a paid premiere held a day earlier.

Written by Arun Anirudhan and Paulson Skaria, the film brings together an ensemble cast that includes Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, Riya Shibu, Vineeth Sreenivasan, and Zarin Shihab. Apart from starring in the project, Basil Joseph also served as one of the producers alongside Dr. Ananthu S.

Athiradi OTT Release: Story, Crew And Streaming Platform

The story revolves around Samkutty, an energetic civil engineering student who is determined to bring back his college's legendary "Arohan" fest. The event had been banned by the management following a stampede that took place a few years earlier, but Samkutty is keen to revive it and restore its place on campus.

His plans, however, are thrown into disarray when the festival's chief guest, Vineeth Sreenivasan, and unexpected guest Shaan Rahman are kidnapped. The abduction is carried out by Sreekuttan Vellayani, better known as "Thotta Kuttan," a notorious goon-turned-musician.

The film follows the events that unfold after the kidnapping, as Samkutty's efforts to organise the festival become entangled in an unexpected series of challenges.

On the technical side, the film features cinematography by Samuel Henry and editing by Chaman Chakko. The music has been composed by Vishnu Vijay, with lyrics penned by Suhail Koya. The action sequences were handled by Action Sandhosh and Phoenix Prabu, while the production design was overseen by Maanav Suresh.

For viewers who missed Athiradi in theatres, the film now has a confirmed OTT destination. Athiradi will begin streaming on SonyLIV from June 19, 2026. The film will be available exclusively on the platform from that date.

The digital release will make the film available to home audiences a little over a month after its theatrical debut on May 14.
