Athiradi OTT Release Update: The Malayalam action-comedy Athiradi, featuring Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph in key roles, was released in theatres on May 14. Directed by Arun Anirudhan, the film also stars Riya Shibu, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Zarin Shihab.

Written by Arun Anirudhan and Paulson Skaria, Athiradi revolves around Samkutty, an enthusiastic civil engineering student determined to revive his college's once-famous cultural festival, "Arohan." The event had been banned by the college administration following a stampede that occurred several years earlier. As Samkutty works to bring the festival back, a series of unexpected developments turns his plans upside down.

The plot centres on the aftermath of the kidnapping of actor-filmmaker Vineeth Sreenivasan and music director Shaan Rahman. They are abducted by Sreekuttan Vellayani, better known as 'Thotta Kuttan,' a feared local gangster who has since reinvented himself as a musician. The incident sets off a chain of events that forms the central conflict of the film.

The project has been produced by Basil Joseph and Dr. Ananthu S., while Tovino Thomas has also been associated with the film as a co-producer. Vishnu Vijay has composed the music for the film, with cinematography handled by Samuel Henry and editing by Chaman Chakko.

The technical crew additionally includes production designer Maanav Suresh, costume designer Mashar Hamsa, makeup artist Ronex Xavier, and stunt directors Action Sandhosh and Phoenix Prabu.
