According to the makers, the trailer will be unveiled on May 11 at 5 PM, just days ahead of the movie's theatrical release on May 14, 2026.

Directed by Arun Anirudhan, Athiradi features an ensemble cast that includes Zarin Shihab and Riya Shibu in key roles. The film has been positioned as an action-comedy set against a college backdrop, with its story revolving around a student named Samkutty, who attempts to revive a banned campus festival. His decision reportedly sparks rivalry and conflict within the college, eventually leading to a series of chaotic events.

Ahead of the trailer launch, the film's promotional campaign has included the release of multiple songs and teaser material. The title teaser for Athiradi was unveiled on October 18, 2025, offering audiences an initial glimpse into the film's tone and setting. The music for the film has been composed by Vishnu Vijay. The lyrics are penned by Suhail Koya. Athiradi is produced by Dr. Ananthu S and Basil Joseph, while Sameer Thahir and Tovino Thomas are attached to the project as co-producers. The screenplay has been written by Paulson Skaria along with director Arun Anirudhan.
