B. Unnikrishnan Resigns As FEFKA General Secretary: Why The Director Stepped Down From Key Post
B. Unnikrishnan Resigns As FEFKA General Secretary: Director and screenwriter B. Unnikrishnan has reportedly stepped down from his role as General Secretary of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), marking an important development within one of the Malayalam film industry's major organizations.

According to Reporter Live, Unnikrishnan submitted his resignation citing personal reasons. The report also noted that he had indicated his willingness to step down on multiple occasions earlier, and the latest move comes after those earlier discussions. However, an official final decision is still pending, as FEFKA's general body is currently reviewing and discussing the resignation.
The report also suggests that Unnikrishnan's decision is linked to his view that the organization should move toward a new phase of leadership. Having been part of FEFKA's leadership structure since its early years, he is understood to have taken the position that new leadership should be given an opportunity to take charge.
FEFKA, short for the Film Employees Federation of Kerala, is a prominent organization representing directors, associate directors, assistant directors, and several other technicians working in the Malayalam film industry. The organization was formed in 1993 and has played a major role in addressing professional concerns within the industry over the years. In 2018, FEFKA also introduced a women's wing aimed at providing a platform for women technicians to raise workplace concerns and seek support.
