Drishyam 3 Box Office Day 8 (Early Update): Mohanlal's Film Slows Down On 2nd Thurs; Eyes To Cross 80cr
Drishyam 3 Box Office Day 8 (Early Update): Drishyam 3 (2026) continued the famous story of Georgekutty and his family and once again attracted huge attention across India. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film starred Mohanlal in the lead role, alongside Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Siddique, Asha Sharath, and Murali Gopy. The movie served as the third chapter in one of Malayalam cinema's most successful thriller franchises. The story followed Georgekutty as he struggled to protect his family after new twists reopened old wounds from the past. The film focused on emotional conflicts, police investigations, and the psychological pressure faced by the family.

Drishyam 3 opened to massive collections at the Indian box office during its first week. The film reportedly crossed more than ₹40 crore net in India within just three days and later moved beyond ₹170 crore worldwide by the end of the first week. Mohanlal's performance and the franchise's popularity helped the film dominate theatres despite receiving mixed reviews from some critics and viewers. The film eventually became one of the biggest Malayalam releases of 2026. However, after wrapping week 1 on a good note, Drishyam 3 started week 2 on a relatively slower note.
Drishyam 3 Box Office Collection Day 8 (Early Trend)
According to a report published in Sacnilk, Drishyam 3 made a collection of Rs 3.86cr on day 8 until 5:30pm including Rs 3.27cr in Malayalam, Rs 14 lakhs in Kannada, Rs 12 lakhs in Tamil and Rs 33 lakhs in Telugu. While the total collection of Drishyam 3 stands at Rs 79.16cr as of now, the movie is expected to cross Rs 80cr mark today (day 8/ second Thursday)
Meanwhile, talking about the climax, Jeethu Joseph told Mathrubhumi, "This film does not have a climax based on hiding a major revelation like exposing the real criminal. Everyone needed for the climax shoot was present on set. Actors and chief technicians were all given the screenplay to read. Naturally, the team too would be curious about the story. During filming, people understand bits and pieces, but since scenes are shot across multiple days, they may not get the complete picture. Cinema is always a collective effort and nothing which causes harm to the project leaks from the team. Even those who shot the famous scene in the first Drishyam - were Georgekutty walks out of the police station carrying a shovel - did not know it was actually part of the climax twist".
