Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film opened with simultaneous first-day-first-show screenings in India and overseas markets, including US premiere screenings that began on May 20 at 10:30 PM EST.

As early screenings concluded abroad, viewers who attended premiere shows began posting their reactions on social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter). These initial responses have started generating discussion online, although they currently reflect only a limited section of moviegoers who watched the film during premiere screenings in international territories. Some of the early reactions shared online are listed below.
Drishyam 3 Cast, Story Setup And Early Overseas Buzz
The third chapter in the Drishyam series continues the story of Georgekutty and his family, characters that audiences have followed since the first film released in 2013. According to the makers, the new installment further explores themes of truth, deception, and the consequences of past actions.
The trailer, which was unveiled on May 9, had hinted at a more personal and psychological angle in Georgekutty's journey. The promotional material included the line, "You have seen his brilliance. You have witnessed his defence. But you never saw what it cost him," leading to speculation that the story would focus more closely on the aftermath of previous events.
In Drishyam 3, Mohanlal reprises his role as Georgekutty, a former cable TV operator who now owns a theatre. Meena returns as Rani George, Georgekutty's wife and mother of their daughters Anju and Anu. Ansiba Hassan plays Anju George, while Esther Anil appears as Anu George. Asha Sarath and Siddique reprise their roles as Geetha Prabhakar and Prabhakar, the parents of Varun. The film also features Murali Gopy as IG Thomas Bastin IPS and K. B. Ganesh Kumar as DySP Philip Mathew. Veena Nandakumar is also part of the cast.
Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and backed by producer Antony Perumbavoor, the film features cinematography by Satheesh Kurup, editing by Vinayak VS, and music composed by Anil Johnson.
While the initial wave of social media reactions has drawn attention online, it remains too early to determine the film's broader reception. More audience responses are expected to emerge through the day and in the coming days as Drishyam 3 continues its theatrical run across different regions.
