Fastest ₹100 Crore Films In Kerala Box Office: Vaazha 2 Reaches Milestone Around Day 15, Sets New Record
Fastest ₹100 Crore Films In Kerala Box Office: The Malayalam film Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros, which hit theatres on April 2, 2026, has entered the record books in Kerala by emerging as the fastest film to cross the ₹100 crore mark at the state box office. As of April 17 (Day 16, Friday), trade trackers indicate that the film has reportedly crossed the milestone, based on early estimates and ongoing updates.

Industry tracker Ramesh Bala shared on X that Vaazha 2 has achieved the feat in record time, attributing the film's performance to audience response across centres. Meanwhile, another trade analyst, AB George, listed Vaazha 2 among the fastest ₹100 crore grossers at the Kerala box office. The list also includes Thudarum and Lokah.
According to AB George, Vaazha 2 has surpassed the previous benchmarks set by Thudarum and Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra in terms of speed to the ₹100 crore mark. While Thudarum reportedly reached the milestone in 19 days and Lokah in 24 days, Vaazha 2 has done so in approximately 15-16 days, setting a new pace for Kerala box office records.
Vaazha 2 joins Thudarum and Lokah in Kerala box office run
Directed by Savin SA and written by Vipin Das, Vaazha 2 is positioned as a sequel to the 2024 film Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys. The film blends elements of action, comedy, and family drama, following four young men, Hashir, Alan, Ajin, and Vinayak, who are labelled underachievers by those around them. As they transition into adulthood, the narrative explores their struggles with societal expectations and their attempts to define success on their own terms.
The ensemble cast includes Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak V, alongside actors such as Alphonse Puthren, Aju Varghese, Vijay Babu, Bijukuttan, and Sudheesh. The film's technical crew features cinematography by Akhil Lailasuran and editing by Kannan Mohan, with music contributions from multiple composers.
The emergence of Vaazha 2 alongside Thudarum, a crime thriller headlined by Mohanlal, and Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, a superhero-led narrative, indicates a varied box office landscape in Kerala where films across genres have managed to draw audiences.
With Day 16 collections still being tallied, final confirmation of Vaazha 2's exact gross is awaited. However, based on current trade estimates and tracker updates, the film has already secured its place among the fastest ₹100 crore grossers in Kerala, marking a notable moment in the state's theatrical business this year.
