Kattalan Box Office Collection: Antony Varghese-starrer Kattalan began its theatrical run on May 28, 2026, and registered a moderate opening at the Indian box office. The Malayalam action thriller, directed by Paul George, collected an estimated ₹3.40 crore net in India on its first day, according to data reported by box office tracking website Sacnilk.

The film, which is positioned as the third chapter in the Mikhael Extended Universe after Mikhael (2019) and Marco (2024), was released across multiple languages and screened in more than 3,300 shows nationwide on its opening day. Based on the early estimates, the film's India gross collection stood at approximately ₹3.91 crore, while the India net total reached ₹3.40 crore.
A closer look at the language-wise performance shows that the Malayalam version accounted for the largest share of the film's Day 1 collections, contributing an estimated ₹2.85 crore net. The Telugu version added around ₹0.20 crore, while the Hindi release collected approximately ₹0.28 crore. The Tamil and Kannada versions contributed smaller shares to the overall total.
According to Sacnilk data, the film recorded an overall occupancy of 27.8% across 3,358 shows on its opening day. Among the various language versions, Malayalam registered the highest occupancy levels, reflecting stronger audience turnout in its home market. The Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada versions posted comparatively lower occupancy figures.
As of May 29, the film has entered its second day in theatres. Industry observers will be watching closely to see whether the weekend period helps the film maintain momentum at the box office. Day 2 collections are expected to provide a clearer picture of the film's initial theatrical trajectory.
Kattalan Cast and Crew
Kattalan features Antony Varghese in the lead role alongside an ensemble cast that includes Sunil, Dushara Vijayan, Kabir Duhan Singh, Jagadish, Siddique, Anson Paul, Hanan Shaah, Hipzter, Parth Tiwari and Raj Tirandasu. The film has been produced by Shareef Muhammed under the Cubes Entertainments banner.
The action thriller revolves around a violent conflict linked to an ivory cartel, with themes of power struggles, survival and revenge forming the core of the narrative. Paul George has directed the project from a screenplay developed with Joby Varghese and Jero Jacob.
On the technical front, the film features cinematography by Renadive and editing by Shameer Muhammed. The soundtrack and score have been handled by Ravi Basrur, while B. Ajaneesh Loknath has contributed an additional song to the project.
