Kattalan Box Office Collection Day 3: Antony Varghese's Film Nears ₹8 Crore India Gross Amid Weekend Run

Kattalan Box Office Collection: Malayalam action thriller Kattalan, starring Antony Varghese in the lead role, continued its theatrical run over the weekend after releasing in cinemas on May 28, 2026. Written and directed by Paul George and produced by Shareef Muhammed under the Cubes Entertainments banner, the film is currently in its first weekend, with Day 4 collections underway on May 31.

According to figures reported by box office tracking platform Sacnilk, Kattalan collected an estimated ₹1.28 crore net in India on its third day in theatres. The latest earnings have taken the film's cumulative India net collection to approximately ₹6.68 crore after three days of release.

The film opened with ₹3.80 crore net on Day 1 before witnessing a decline on the following days. It earned ₹1.60 crore on Day 2 and added another ₹1.28 crore on Day 3. Based on available data, the film's India gross collection now stands at around ₹7.69 crore.

Occupancy figures showed a slight improvement compared to Friday. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 16.1 percent on Saturday across 1,832 shows nationwide.

The Malayalam version remained the primary contributor to the film's collections, generating an estimated ₹0.98 crore net on Day 3 from 1,108 shows. The Telugu version added approximately ₹0.24 crore net, while the Tamil version contributed around ₹0.06 crore. Occupancy levels were reported at 15 percent for Malayalam, 18 percent for Telugu and 17 percent for Tamil screenings.

Kattalan: Storyline, Cast And Crew

Kattalan revolves around an intense conflict sparked by an ivory cartel war, where the pursuit of power collides with the struggle for survival. The story explores themes of dominance, revenge and endurance in a violent world where the characters face life-threatening challenges.

The film is the third chapter in the Mikhael Extended Universe, following Mikhael (2019) and Marco (2024). It brings together an ensemble cast featuring Antony Varghese, Sunil, Jagadish, Kabir Duhan Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Anson Paul, Hanan Shaah, Parth Tiwari, Raj Tirandasu, Hipzter and several others in prominent roles.

The film features music by Ravi Basrur, while B. Ajaneesh Loknath has contributed an additional song. Renadive handled cinematography, and the editing was carried out by Shameer Muhammed. The screenplay credits include Paul George, Joby Varghese and Jero Jacob, with dialogues written by Unni R.

As the film enters Day 4 of its theatrical run, attention will remain on whether it can stabilise its collections and improve its performance through the remainder of the opening weekend and the weekdays that follow.
