Chidambaram Booked In Sexual Assault Case: Manjummel Boys director Chidambaram S. Poduval has been booked in connection with a sexual assault complaint filed by an actress. According to a report by Mathrubhumi, the Ernakulam South Police registered a case against the filmmaker following the woman's statement.

As per the report, the alleged incident dates back to 2022 and is said to have taken place at a flat in Elamkulam, Kochi. In her complaint, the actress reportedly stated that the director entered the flat without permission and behaved inappropriately with sexual intent. Based on her statement, police have invoked Sections 74 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deal with offences related to assault or use of criminal force against a woman.

According to Mathrubhumi, police said the investigation is underway. They indicated that the director will be summoned for questioning as part of the inquiry. Officers also stated that further steps, including possible arrest, would depend on the findings of the ongoing probe.

Who Is Manjummel Boys Director Chidambaram?

Chidambaram, who works primarily in Malayalam cinema, made his directorial debut with Jan.E.Man in 2021. He later directed Manjummel Boys (2024), which emerged as one of the most commercially successful Malayalam films of the year. Apart from directing, he has been associated with the industry in various capacities, including assisting filmmaker Jayaraj and working as an assistant cinematographer with Rajeev Ravi and K. U. Mohanan. He is also the elder brother of actor Ganapathi, who collaborated with him on Jan.E.Man. His upcoming film is Balan.
