Patriot Day 1 Worldwide Box Office: Mammootty-Mohanlal Film Emerges As Second-Highest Mollywood Opener

Patriot Worldwide Box Office Collection: The Malayalam action thriller Patriot, starring Mammootty and Mohanlal in lead roles, recorded a notable start at the global box office following its release on May 1, 2026. As the film enters Day 3 on May 3, early trade figures from its opening day indicate a strong turnout across key markets.

Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot brings together a large ensemble cast that includes Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Revathi, Rajiv Menon, and Darshana Rajendran, among others. The project has been positioned as a multi-starrer action drama, with music composed by Sushin Shyam.

According to figures shared by industry tracker AB George on X (formerly Twitter) on the morning of May 3, Patriot collected approximately ₹28.05 crore worldwide on its opening day. The film earned ₹8.5 crore from Kerala, while the rest of India contributed around ₹3.2 crore.

The overseas market added significantly to the total. The Middle East emerged as the biggest contributor outside India, grossing about $1.2 million. North America brought in approximately $177K, followed closely by the UK and Ireland at $176K. Australia contributed around $95K, while New Zealand added $12K. Overall, the film's overseas gross stood at $1.73 million, which translates to roughly ₹16.35 crore.

With these figures, Patriot has reportedly become the second-highest opening day grosser in Malayalam cinema, behind Empuraan, which had recorded a significantly higher opening.
