Anju Krishna Arrested In Drug Case: Anju Krishna, a young actress who has worked in Tamil and Malayalam screen projects, has come under public attention following her arrest in a drug-related case in Chennai. The development emerged after an operation by the Anti-Narcotic Intelligence Unit (ANIU) of the Chennai Police, which led to the arrest of eight individuals, including Anju Krishna and Vinci Nivetha, an assistant director associated with Tamil cinema.

According to a report by News18 Malayalam, the arrests were made after police received inputs pointing to an alleged narcotics network operating in parts of the city. The investigation reportedly began with the apprehension of a man identified as Vigneshwaran (33) from Nesapakkam. Information gathered during questioning led officers to widen the probe, eventually resulting in a decoy operation in Valasaravakkam.

According to a report by the Times of India, police officers posed as buyers and contacted an alleged supplier, Venkatesh Kumar. When he arrived at the location in a car to hand over the substances, the police team intercepted the vehicle and detained those present. Anju Krishna was among the individuals taken into custody during this operation.

The arrested persons were identified as Anju Krishna (30), Vinci Niveda (26), Karthik Raja (31), Yashwanth (25), Sreeram (33), Alvibinsha (27), and Venkatesh Kumar (31). Officials said that 6 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of OG ganja, 15 grams of ganja, an LSD stamp, a smoking bong, and nine mobile phones were seized during the operation. All of them were produced before a magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody.

Who Is Anju Krishna?

Anju Krishna has previously acted in the Tamil film Vellimalai and has also been part of select Malayalam projects, including Aaro, starring Joju George. She is also known to television audiences for her role in the serial Priyankari, which aired on the Flowers Channel.

Industry sources note that Anju Krishna began her career in modeling before moving on to short films, which later opened doors to feature film opportunities. Though she is a native of Thrissur in Kerala, her professional base has largely been within the Tamil film industry.

The specific role of each accused in the case is yet to be known. The matter remains under investigation, with the Valasaravakkam police continuing further legal procedures.
