Ranjini, who rose to prominence as the host of the Malayalam reality show Star Singer, said fame brought opportunities but also exposed her to situations that she had not anticipated when she began her career. According to her, some of the incidents stemmed from people viewing women in the entertainment industry through a stereotypical lens.

Recalling an overseas event she attended early in her career, Ranjini said she initially believed all professional engagements would be straightforward and respectful. However, she later encountered situations that made her uncomfortable. She described one such experience during a trip to Dubai for a stage show, where interactions with event organisers and sponsors gradually took an unexpected turn. While she did not reveal names, she said the episode left her feeling uneasy and eventually forced her to take a firm stand.

The presenter also recounted an incident connected to an advertising assignment in Kerala. She alleged that after completing the work, a client suggested that spending time with him was part of the arrangement. Ranjini said she immediately challenged the claim and confronted both the client and the coordinator involved. She added that she chose not to pursue the matter further after the individual apologised.

She further alleged that a prominent musician had approached her with a sexual proposition, which she said she declined.
