Who Is Rincy Mumtaz? Social Media Influencer Arrested Again In Kochi For Possession Of MDMA
Rincy Mumtaz Arrested For Drug Possession: Social media influencer Rincy Mumtaz has once again come under police scrutiny after being arrested in a drug-related case in Kochi. The latest development has drawn attention due to the seizure as well as her earlier links to a similar case and alleged connections within the film industry.

According to a report by Reporter Live dated April 15, 2026, Rincy Mumtaz was taken into custody from a hotel near Nedumbassery, identified as MJ Residency. Police said she had allegedly booked a room there with the intention of consuming and distributing narcotics. Three others, Mohammed Rishaq from Vazhakkala, Abhijith from Aluva, and Biju from Nooranad, were also arrested along with her. Authorities recovered 3.58 grams of MDMA from the group.
Deshabhimani, in its April 15 report, similarly noted that the arrest followed a tip-off received by the police. The report added that investigators suspect the seized substance may have been intended for sale, indicating possible distribution plans.
Rincy Mumtaz: Earlier Arrest, Alleged Film Industry Links
This is not the first time Rincy Mumtaz has been arrested in connection with a drug case. She was previously arrested in July 2025 in connection with MDMA possession. Earlier coverage by Asianet News (July 12, 2025) reported that investigators had then alleged she supplied drugs to individuals associated with the Malayalam film industry. The same report stated that she had spent approximately ₹10 lakh on procuring MDMA and had allegedly sourced other substances, including cocaine, from Bengaluru. Financial transactions were said to have been carried out through digital platforms such as Google Pay and cryptocurrency.
Further details from a News18 Malayalam report (July 11, 2025) indicated that investigators had probed her alleged use of film promotion activities as a front for drug distribution. The report claimed that a flat in Kochi functioned as a hub for these activities, with multiple individuals, including those from the film industry, reportedly visiting the premises. Authorities also found evidence suggesting communication with buyers through messaging platforms.
Rincy Mumtaz, a native of Farook in Kozhikode, is known for her presence on YouTube and Instagram. She had been associated with promotional campaigns for several films and was familiar within certain circles of the Malayalam film industry.
Police reportedly said that further investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of her network and possible links to others.
