<i>Chakkaramuthu</i> Review

Chakkaramuthu is a film which can be grouped under romantic films, but it has no romance. Instead it has romance in song sequences and dreams. This film is entirely different from all other Lohithadas films as the ending of the film is not a happy ending but - a tragic end. This film again brings him a good name and gets the approval from the audience as a super hit movie.

The film is about a next-door boy, Aravindakshan aka Aravindan (Dileep) who is a ladies' tailor in his village. He behaves as a comedian, so people call him Pottan. His thinking is entirely different and he always thinks about his ladylove Anitha (Kavya Madhavan). He roams around her house and does all the household works for Anitha and her mom, Devayani teacher.

Aravindan always goes behind Anitha like a bodyguard. He calls her "Unnimol". He likes her very much but he is not bold enough to express his love for her. Anitha gets a marriage proposal from Dr. Rajeev, but because of some reasons, it gets cancelled. Aravindan thinks that Anitha is not interested in him.

When days pass, Aravindan's love for Anitha deepens; he is not aware that Anitha takes him into consideration only as a friend and for sympathy. Soon, Aravindan is teased and ragged by Santosh (Kalabhavan Nawas) and Bombay Kumaaran (Cochin Haneefa) about his love for Anitha. This makes him angry and he tries to kiss Anitha. Predictably, the act makes Anitha very angry and she pushes Aravindan out of her house. Then comes the entry of Jeevan, (Jishnu) actual lover of Anitha, who very soon identifies Aravindan and beats up him for his act of trying to kiss his sweetheart. Anitha uses the chance and blackmails Aravindan to disclose her love matter, as Jeevan's father is a wealthy builder from the metros. In this situation, Aravindan again becomes the bodyguard for the lovers.

Now the situation becomes very hard as the truth is revealed to Anitha's uncle, D.S.P. of police and her mother, so she is put under house arrest and not allowed to talk to Aravindan. At this time, Jeevan is in Bangalore. During the betrothal, Anitha, with the assistance of Aravindan, moves to Bangalore and finally she comes to know that Jeevan is a fraud. Then the film ends in an unimaginable way.

To conclude, hats off to Lohidas, he shows the strength of true love and characters. Dileep, by his usual character and dialogue delivery, plays his part with great success. The creators of the film plan to create another climax, which is under discussion. So this may bring in some repeat audiences.
